The very first thing that you realized your mistakes makes it forgivable. So first thing you do is to forgive yourself. Don't help the poor if you cannot. But there are many other ways. Have compassion, help people by involving your self (e.g. community services) without expecting anything in return, do not hurt anybody (unless someone hurts you). and, of course, pray, not for yourself, but for others. I wish peace comes to
